South Zone Pony Platinum Softball I am happy to announce the creation of a new Platinum Softball program for fast pitch Softball in the South Zone that will lead to National Tournament competition. This program will include all Travel/Select teams in the South Zone and will compliment our League oriented Softball program by separating the teams into one or the other program. This new program will be headed up by Lupe Acuna as Region Director for the entire South Zone and she will be assisted by Michael Gallardo and appointed Section Directors from the other Pony Regions. Lupe has been the Region Director for the South Texas for the past five years and has been with Pony for thirteen years. Lupe has experience dealing with these Platinum teams thru her daughters invovement in softball and she understands what it takes to build a new program that will offer new opportunities to these teams. I look forward to working with her and helping Pony grow thru this new arena. I also welcome Michael as her assistant and know that he will work closely with Lupe as he did as Director in the Corpus Christi area. He also has great knowledge and love for the game of softball. These appointments will take effect immediately and the new program will begin in the 2007 season and will be part of the 2007 National Tournament in Round Rock, Texas on August 1 - 5, 2007.
